Winter Vacation in Oberjoch
A winter vacation in Oberjoch in the Allgäu promises plenty of snow and even more family fun. Whether you’re skiing in the best family-friendly ski resort in the Alps, sledding, cross-country skiing, or, of course, staying with us at the Familux Resort Oberjoch.
Oberjoch & Bad Hindelang: Winter Vacations in the Snow
With its elevation of 1,200 m, Oberjoch is one of the places in Germany with the most reliable snow conditions. In addition to the ski area, which extends up to 1,550 meters above sea level, 90 kilometers of cross-country trails, several toboggan runs, ice rinks, winter hiking and snowshoeing trails, ski schools, and several mountain huts—along with the wellness and family activities at the Familux Resort Oberjoch—ensure a vibrant winter vacation in the Allgäu.

At the best family-friendly ski resort
The German Ski Association has named the Oberjoch ski resort the best family-friendly ski resort in the Alps. This is likely due not only to the 20,000 m² “Kinderland” at the valley station of the Oberjoch mountain railways, but also to the family-friendly atmosphere of this tranquil ski resort. With 32 kilometers of slopes—11 km of which are blue—it isn’t one of the largest resorts in the Alps, but it offers an ideal setting for families and beginner skiers. And with 2 kilometers of black runs, those looking for an adrenaline rush will also find plenty to enjoy.

Winter Wellness & Swimming Fun
While it can get quite cold outside, carefree swimming fun awaits in the cozy warmth of our wellness area for adults, kids, and the little ones. With an indoor pool and giant hot tub, a year-round heated outdoor infinity pool, a 20-cm-deep indoor children’s pool, and a 128-meter-long tube water slide, there’s something for everyone. Perhaps you’ll find it in the sauna area with its family-friendly clothed sauna. Or maybe during massages for kids and parents?

Gliding Through Winter on Skates in Bad Hindelang
Experience winter in the Allgäu on wheels—whether on a sled or ice skates. Three sledding runs, each 3.5 km long, await you in the mountains above Oberjoch during the winter. Sleds can be rented at several winter sports shops and at the Hornbahn valley station.
Bad Hindelang is the best place to take to the ice. You can go ice skating here as well as play curling. And on select dates, you’re invited to a disco skate to the music of the ’80s and ’90s.

Winter Hiking & Snowshoeing
Hiking isn’t just a summer activity. During your winter vacation in the Allgäu, you’ll find numerous trails for winter hiking or snowshoeing. Particularly popular is the roughly 8-kilometer-long winter hike through the Alpsteigtobel, which involves a climb of just 140 meters but still takes you through a beautiful winter landscape with stunning views. Over in the Tannheimer Valley in Tyrol, too, you can enjoy wonderful hikes through the snow. Snowshoes can be rented at many winter sports shops in town.
