Of course, there are also plenty of places to swim—not just here at the Familux Resort, but all over the Allgäu region during the summer.
From the swimming class to the spa
Massage table or water slide? Best to try one first, then the other. Here in the Allgäu during the summer, you can enjoy both: with an indoor pool, an outdoor infinity pool, a children’s indoor pool, a 128-meter-long tube water slide, and a spa that promises wellness for adults and young guests alike.
Children love to use their summer vacation in Obejoch to take a swimming class right at the hotel. At the Familux Swim Academy, children ages 4 and up learn water safety and can earn their “Seepferdchen” swimming badge.

The Allgäu: A Hiker's Paradise
You can explore the meadows, forests, and mountains of the Allgäu on hikes in a peaceful and particularly unspoiled way. Oberjoch is a hiking hotspot in the summer. Thanks to its high elevation, hikes start right from the village at 1,200 m. Trails lead directly from the Familux Resort Oberjoch up to the Iseler and the Kühlgund, whose summits are even more accessible thanks to the summer cable cars. Leisurely hikers will find short loop trails near the village, while the more athletic can tackle via ferrata routes in the mountains. Families can look forward to highlights like the Schmugglersteig or the adventure trail at the Hornbahn Hindelang.

Mountain Biking & Cycling
Over 500 kilometers of trails await mountain bikers and cyclists around Oberjoch in the summer. There are both leisurely family rides and challenging mountain tours. At the heart of the biking region is the Hindelang Bike Park, featuring three trails of varying difficulty levels. With a total of 12 kilometers of freeride trails covering 523 meters of elevation gain, there’s a challenge for everyone. There’s also a pump track at the Hornbahn valley station, which takes riders and their bikes to the trailheads.

There’s so much for our young guests to discover and experience around the hotel during their summer vacation in Oberjoch: the outdoor playground and the adventure climbing forest, a giant bounce house, our forest festival grounds with a campfire pit, and our petting zoo with rabbits and alpacas.
And what if it rains outside? Then the fun continues not only in our water park but also in the 2,000 m² indoor play area, which features a gym and soft play area, a movie theater, a family bowling alley, and a climbing wall.

Swimming in Nature
Around Oberjoch, several swimming lakes offer a welcome chance to cool off in the summer—surrounded by nature, forests, and mountains. Particularly idyllic: the Hochmoorbad with its “natural” peat water pool and its own children’s pool.
The Hindelang Swimming Pool & Natural Bathing Area and the “Prinze Gumpe” Kneipp Spa Garden also promise great swimming fun with picturesque views. Those hiking along the Schmugglersteig trail can cool off with a dip in the Schmugglersee at the Wiedhag-Alpe.

Children's Summer
Excursions for Your Summer Vacation in the Allgäu
The famous Neuschwanstein—a fairytale castle and the inspiration for Disney—is only about a forty-minute drive from Oberjoch. It is undoubtedly one of the major highlights in southern Germany—and yet just one of many. Over 40 castles, ruins, and fortresses still stand in the Allgäu-Außerfern region today.
You can also get a close-up feel for the region’s history by visiting the local history museum in Bad Hindelang. With animals to feed and a museum farm where you can jump around in the hay, the Allgäu Mountain Farm Museum in Immenstadt is a special highlight for families.
